Overview:

The Bambu Cool Plate is comprised of a Bambu Engineering Magnetic Flex Plate with a Cool Plate sticker pre-installed which is a consumable printing surface that is used in conjunction with a thin coat of glue stick and works best for filaments that don't require a high temperature set to the heated.
The Bambu Cool Plate leaves a smooth finish to printed models that come in contact with the Cool Plate and might require a bit of post-processing for cleaning up the glue stick.

The Bambu Cool Plate can support a square print area of 256*256mm with rounded corners. It is suitable for all Bambu 3D Printer models.

Benefits of using the Bambu Cool Plate

  • Works best with low glass transition temperature filaments as it can be used at a low temperature for the hotbed.
  • Works well with the Automatic Calibration for Flow rate and does not interfere with the LIDAR.
  • Does not require the front glass door or top glass cover to be removed when used.
  • Smooth texture on the surface of the print.
  • Excellent adhesion and easy print removal.
  • Can be replaced by the user.

Downsides to using the Bambu Cool Plate

  • Cannot be used without glue stick as the surface can be easily damaged if glue stick is not used.
  • It is not recommended for high-temperature materials as bubbles can form underneath the print surface and cause damage.

Considerations for using the Bambu Cool Plate

  • Always apply a uniform thin coat of glue stick, to ensure a longer lifetime for the Cool Plate.
  • Regularly clean the print surface with dish soap and hot water to eliminate any dust or grease residue, which might lead to adhesion problems.
  • Do not clean the Cool Plate with Acetone, as it might damage the surface.
  • Always wait for a few minutes before removing printed models to allow them to cool down for easy print removal and avoid bubbles forming underneath the printing surface.

Installation steps

When installing the Bambu Cool Plate, please use the location of the text to help you install the plate in the correct orientation. The upper left and right rounded corners of the Cool Plate should be aligned with the left and right fixed points of the heating platform and gently lowered to be secured by the magnet.
